FAQ

  • Dystopia Rising Live is a post-apocalyptic world where the dead walk and where people have evolved into Strains. The concept for Dystopia Rising was first created over 15 years ago, and since then it’s branched into several different properties.   • Absolutely. Keep in mind that Dystopia Rising: Connecticut does not run monthly and largely focuses on larger, oddball events. With that in mind, we do encourage you to check out chapters near to you if you’d like to play more often.

  • Running a monthly Dystopia Rising Live event is a massive volume of work that requires full-time, or lots of part-time work to ensure a quality event. Due to our own time constraints (we are working on items for the IP as a whole) and in order to keep to the quality events that we’re known for, we instead choose to run on a quarterly basis.

  • We focus on the core genre of the Dystopia Rising Live world. With that in mind, we don’t have high-tech aspects on the Wailing Shores. In fact, airships and anything tech related tends to break down when it gets close to the shores due to our irradiated reef. We find that going lower tech allows us to instead keep our focus on horror, political machinations, and zombies.

  • We primarily focus on online events, though do have a few in-person events planned. With our online events, we ask attendees be fully present by having their mic on, and encourage them to be in costume on camera. Our NPCs will similarly always be on camera to help bring you into the scene.
